Instructional Applications in Apple Store

Hi everyone,

Today I will share some instructional applications in smart phones. As we know, most of the students begin to use their parents' phones in early ages. In today’s World, most of the parents have smart phones and students generally use their parents’ smart phone in order to play games. By giving the phones, parents want to waste their children’s time. They mostly do not pay attention what their children play, then the children may be affected badly. For this reason, I want to share some instructional applications that the children can play or watch in their waste time. According to my investigations, many people use smart phones which are labeled by Apple ( at the same time me too J). Because of that, applications are in Apple Store. I will list these applications and I will explain one of them.

These applicaitons:

·        Matematik Kralı (exercises about operatios)

·        Sudoku Vintage Classic (logical game)

·        Math Camp- Exercises on math

·        Kibrit Çöpleri- Ücretsiz Bulmaca

·        Khan Academy (this is about instructional videos)

These applications are free n some parts. The languages of some of them are English, some are Turkish. You can understand how these applications are played by downloading. Fort this reason, I will explain only Sudoku Vintage Classic which is more important than the others for me. This is a logical game. As we know, this game can be found in newspapers or any books. However, most of the modern-day students prefer the technological games. So, it is useful to that this game is made as application in smart phones.

This application has many varied stages for many different level of students: Easy – Medium – Hard – Expert – Insane.

Also it measure the time (how much is it completed).

Altough these are known, I want to mention about many benefits of Sudoku again:

ü   Keeps your brain alive and active.

ü   Develops some logical thinking and patterns.

ü   Helps in improving your patience and concentration.

ü   Improves sharpness and strategy while approaching and solving problems

ü  Enables you to learn, improve and compete against yourself (based on solving times), thus enhancing your skill-sets and competitive spirit.

ü  Gives you a sense of accomplishment on completing the grid within few minutes.

ü   It can build your interest in the world of grid-based puzzles, and sudoku competitions, locally, nationally, or globally.

ü   It is one of the simplest sports/games/activities to learn, enjoy, play/solve, and even teach.

ü   It is something you can pursue lifelong since it does not have any age limit or materialistic requirements.

If you are a teacher, you can suggest these applications to your students in order to play or watch at their home. Thus they can improve their mathematical skills and mathematical thinkings.
